From October 14-18, 2024, Regenerative Biochar Inc. founder Erica Massey flew from BC, Canada to attend the first-ever viticulture biochar school and study tour in Florence and the Chianti-Tuscany region of Italy! Researchers spoke from Italy, France, Croatia, Israel, Australia, USA, United Kingdom, Netherlands, South America and more for two days of scientific presentations on biochar soil treatment studies in vineyards. This was followed by a 3-day study tour to a biochar industrial energy & research facility, olive orchard using biochar to produce heat & electricity to run the processing facility, and visits to vineyards utilizing biochar in soil treatment studies including remote sensing drone to complement vineyard biochar knowledge.
